This product provides you with the benefits of a comprehensive package of protection and the flexibility to meet the specific needs of your business. This product was designed for owners of businesses such as pizza shops, sandwich shops, bakeries and coffee shops. Pricing discounts are available for businesses that qualify.
Automatic Property Coverages for food service businesses include:
- Building and Business Personal Property, which helps replace or repair your building and the contents of your building if they are damaged by a covered loss.
- Business-Income and Extra Expense, which covers you in the event your business has to close due to a covered loss. You will be reimbursed for your actual loss of income and the extra expenses you incur for up to one year.
- Spoilage includes coverage for spoilage and contamination of perishable stock caused by a power outage.
- Employee Dishonesty covers dishonest or fraudulent acts committed by your employees.
- Money and Securities provides coverage for money and securities used in your business if they are stolen, lost or destroyed.
- Computer Coverage provides coverages for damage to your computer equipment and the restoration of electronic data that is destroyed or corrupted by a covered loss.
- Identity Recovery Coverage, which includes expense reimbursement and identity recovery services to assist in resolving and correcting your credit history and identity records. Both you as the owner and full-time employees of your business are covered.
Automatic Liability Coverages provide protection, including:
- Business Liability, protection for damages related to bodily injury, property damage and personal and advertising injury that arise out of your business.
- Employment Practices Liability, which will protect you from claims made alleging injury to your employees due to work-related discrimination, negligent hiring or termination, or harassment.
In addition to our automatic coverages, our Optional Coverages allow you to customize your policy to meet your unique needs.
- Food Contamination coverage reimburses you for the costs to replace contaminated food, clean your equipment and advertising costs to restore your business' reputation. Coverage applies if you are ordered to close by the Board of Health or any other government authority for discovery or suspicion of food contamination.
- Data Compromise covers the cost of notifying and providing identity restoration assistance to individuals whose personal information has been lost, stolen or inadvertently published while in your care, custody or control. This coverage provides protection for customers, clients, vendors and others.
Merchants Advantage Plus® Food Service also offers a number of money-saving discounts, such as:
- Multiple Policy Discount, for those policyholders that have more than one commercial policy with Merchants.
