Merchants Recycles Electronics for Annual ‘e-Scrap for Camp’ Event to Benefit Camp Good Days

In June 2024, Merchants Insurance Group once again proudly participated in Sunnking’s annual e-Scrap for Camp event, an electronics recycling event to benefit Camp Good Days!

Each year, Sunnking, an environmentally-friendly electronics recycling company, encourages local businesses to recycle old or unused electronics during a two-week period. Sunnking then donates all funds raised to Camp Good Days & Special Times, a not-for-profit organization that provides summer camps, adult retreats, and other activities for children, adults, and families affected by cancer. The company hosts this initiative for companies located in and around Buffalo, Rochester, and Utica, New York, near its three regional facilities.

The results are now in from the 2024 e-Scrap for Camp! Merchants’ corporate headquarters gathered and recycled 2,651 pounds of electronics for this year’s event, contributing to this year’s program total donation of $9,498.59 to Camp Good Days.

Since its inception in 2010, e-Scrap for Camp has resulted in 6.5 million pounds of electronics recycled by Sunnking in an environmentally-friendly way and has raised over $150,000 for Camp Good Days & Special Times!

Special thanks to Jason Gallo, Enterprise Technology Services & Security Manager, for coordinating Merchants’ participation in this annual event.
