During these times of uncertainty, Merchants Insurance Group hopes you and your family are healthy. To provide assistance as a result of the “stay at home guidelines” that most states have adopted, Merchants will provide a 15% COVID-19 Relief Payment.
- In Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Vermont:
- The 15% Relief Payment will apply to the following types of policies: Commercial Automobile and/or MAP® Business Owners (excluding MAP® Auto Repair or MAP® Contractor).
- The 15% Relief Payment will be for the months of April and May per state regulations.
- To receive this payment, there is nothing for the policyholder to do. The April payment will be applied in mid-May and the payment will be reflected on the policyholder’s next insurance bill issued after that date. The May payment will be automatically applied in mid-June and the payment will be reflected on the policyholder’s next insurance bill issued after that date.
- If the policy(s) are paid in full, or are no longer active, Merchants will issue a check to the policyholder within the following 30 days.
- The minimum payment will be $10 even if the calculated payment is less.
- In New York:
- The 15% Relief Payment will apply to the following types of policies: Personal Automobile, Commercial Automobile and/or MAP® Business Owners (excluding MAP® Auto Repair or MAP® Contractor).
- The 15% Relief Payment will be for the month of May, the policy(s) must be active on April 30th. To receive this 15% relief payment for the month of June, the policy(s) must be active on May 31st.
- To receive this payment, there is nothing for the policyholder to do. The May payment will be applied in mid-May and the payment will be reflected on the policyholder’s next insurance bill issued after that date. The June payment will be automatically applied in mid-June and the payment will be reflected on the policyholder’s next insurance bill issued after that date.
- If the policy(s) are paid in full or are no longer active, Merchants will issue a check to the policyholder within the following 30 days.
- The minimum payment will be $10 even if the calculated payment is less.
